Day 6 and my pup is still crying through the night. Is this normal? tips anyone?

My puppy had a hard time at night too. My solution was to put her crate in my bedroom beside my bed. My daughter went one better with her puppy. She slept beside the crate on the floor, I am too old for sleeping on the floor. The crate in my bedroom right beside me ON THE FLOOR, NOT ON THE BED! worked well. I did this for about 2 weeks. She slept really well, but if I got up, or moved she would whine. That is when I put her in another room. She now is totally fine at night and I moved her and her crate back to the kitchen. By the way, I covered her crate with a blanket so she felt more closed in. Good luck!
