I'm 18 and starting to drink alcohol? Is this bad for me?

im 16 and i have been drunk a fair few times, only once every couple of months tho, and only on special occasions like birthdays and new years and all those types of events, you have nothing to worry about, its when your 16 and finding yourself getting drunk at least once every weekend, thats what most of my frineds are all about, not me tho
