Papillon vs coton de tulear poodle mix?

We are family with 4 children age range 6-13. We are looking for a doggy that would be a better match for our family. I am at home mom. We travel by minivan often. We need a doggy that has a nice temperament, friendly, that is not hyper. Indoors laid back, playfull outside. Watch dog but not a barker. We also have a cat. Easily trained to housebreak. Owners, please help us with our decision. Thank you
